MAIN STREET PROGRAM GRANTS
Businesses located within the Main Street District may qualify for the following grants through the Buda Main Street Program. See individual grant programs for requirements and guidelines.
ANICE READ FUND GRANT
Grants from the Anice Read Fund are only available to members of the Texas Downtown Association and must have a downtown element to be eligible. Grant amounts range from $500 to $5,000 and are awarded on an annual basis. Applications for the Fund are always due by midnight on the Friday prior to Labor Day. The 2022 deadline is Friday, September 2.

SKILLS FOR SMALL BUSINESS GRANT
Amount of Grant: Up to $1,800 for each new employee
Deadline: Ongoing
Skills for Small Business is a program offered by the Texas Workforce Commission to help small business owners train new workers. The company must have fewer than 100 employees and it pays up to $1,800 for each new employee and $900 for existing employees per 12-month period. Training must occur at a public community or technical college or the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service. Eligible training includes for-credit, continuing education and online courses.
DOWNTOWN COMARKETING FUND
The Downtown Co-Marketing fund is a marketing program designed to assist businesses and organizations located in the Historic Downtown district to promote their businesses and attract new customers from outside and around Buda. If approved, businesses or events held within the district can be reimbursed for up to 50% of their marketing costs, up to $3,000 for eligible projects. Funds are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
GRANT GUIDELINES
Business must be located in the Historic Downtown area as designated by the Buda Main Street Program boundaries.
All advertisements must promote tourism to Historic Downtown Buda.
Organizations requesting co-marketing funds for events, must host their event within the Historic Downtown area as designated by the Buda Main Street Program boundaries.
All advertising must include the phrase “Historic Downtown Buda” or similar.
Advertising must promote tourism and meet the Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax Code requirements
The expenditure must directly enhance and promote tourism and the convention and hotel industry and/or
Promote tourism in the City of Buda
Additional Grants and Incentives
Additional grants may be available to businesses wishing to relocate to Historic Downtown Buda or make improvements to existing commercial properties through the following sites. Please note that businesses located in the Buda Main Street District must consult the Planning Department before beginning any work.
